This Medical Disclaimer governs the specialized certification services provided by Seattle Aviation Medical. By using this website or scheduling an evaluation, you acknowledge that our services are limited to aviation and maritime medical certification and regulatory fitness examinations and are not comprehensive medical care.
Scope of Services
Seattle Aviation Medical performs FAA medical certification examinations, BasicMed physical evaluations, and U.S. Coast Guard CG-719K medical examinations for Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMC). Services are limited to regulatory medical certification and fitness assessments. We do not provide ongoing diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, medication management, or primary care. Certification evaluations are not comprehensive health examinations.
No Patient-Physician Relationship
Certification evaluations are performed for regulatory or occupational purposes and do not establish an ongoing treating physician-patient relationship. These services do not replace primary care. Applicants should maintain a separate relationship with a personal physician for diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and emergency medical needs.
Certification & Medical Qualification
Completion of an examination does not guarantee issuance or renewal of any medical certificate, qualification, or credential. Final certification and qualification determinations are made by the applicable regulatory authority, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), in accordance with their respective regulations and standards. Additional medical records, testing, specialist evaluations, or other documentation may be required.
Medical Qualification & Applicant Conduct
The medical examiner must independently and accurately document relevant medical history, examination findings, and clinical recommendations. Applicants may provide relevant information and clarification; however, attempts to pressure, intimidate, mislead, withhold material information from, or otherwise improperly influence the examiner's documentation or independent clinical decision-making will not be tolerated.

Such conduct may be documented and reported to the applicable regulatory authority, including the FAA or U.S. Coast Guard, and may affect the applicant's medical certification, qualification, or credentialing determination, including possible disqualification as determined by the applicable authority.
Limitation of Services
Seattle Aviation Medical is responsible for performing certification examinations and completing required documentation based on information available at the time of evaluation. We are not responsible for long-term medical management, treatment decisions, or outcomes related to underlying medical conditions. Health concerns identified during an examination should be addressed with the applicant's primary care physician or appropriate specialist.
Applicant Responsibility Disclosure
Applicants are responsible for providing complete, truthful, and accurate medical histories, records, and other requested information. Omissions, misrepresentations, or inaccurate information may affect certification or credential eligibility and may be reported to the applicable regulatory authority.
